A New Name

Isaiah 62:2
"The nations will see your righteousness;
And all the kings your glory;
And you will be called by a new name
Which the mouth of the Lord will designate."

Isaiah 65:15
"You shall leave your name
as a curse to My chosen;
For the Lord will slay you,
And call His servants by another name."

Acts 11:26 (The Message)
"He found him and brought him back to Antioch. They were there a whole year, meeting with the church and teaching a lot of people. It was in Antioch that the disciples were for the first time called Christians."

Judging Spirituality

How Can We Tell If Folks Are Really Spiritual?

James 1:26-27 "The Message"

"Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and Guard against corruption from the godless world."

Some quotes and some question about modern day charismania?

It gets worse, if you can believe it. At a charismatic conference in an East Coast city recently, a pastor stood on a stage in front of a large crowd and smugly announced that the guest speaker was “more than an apostle.” Then the host asked everyone to bow down to the person, claiming that this posture was necessary to release God’s power.

“This is the only way you can receive this kind of anointing!” the host declared, bowing in front of the speaker. Immediately, about 80 percent of the audience fell prostrate on the floor. The few who were uncomfortable with the weird spiritual control in the room either walked out or stood in silent protest.

So today, I guess it’s not enough to feed a celebrity preacher’s ego by treating them like a rock star. We also are required to worship him.

Twice in His earthly ministry Jesus’ cleansed the Old Testament House revealed the plague that was there, yet after His death and resurrection the nation had a generation to repent and did not. In 70 Ad the Old Covenant was judged “not one stone was left upon another” which in fact fulfilled the word spoken by Jesus to His disciples in Matt. 24:1-3. Some will possibly be offended in what I’m going to say but that’s not my problem. I think Jesus many times and in many ways has already visited the Pentecostal and Charismatic Church and has found it wanting. How often have the sins of our pastors/prophetic/apostolic leaders has been exposed, yet as what we call the Charismatic movement has there been true repentance? Some of these leaders are still in ministry today and many have not changed from their error. I am not here to call names or pinpoint these specific leaders but it would not be hard to do, these things are brought out with valid evidence and are all over the Internet for all to see Christian and non-Christian alike.

This is taken from an interview on a Christian Radio program concerning the Lake Land listen in and you judge for yourselves is it of God or not?

Rob Ricciardelli went on radio station KGNW in Seattle and made the following statement: Rodney Howard-Browne met with Todd early on in the Lakeland meetings and said "Todd, my advice to you is do not talk about Angels; do not get off on Angel Emma. Preach the Word of God, and let's see what God does." And Todd agreed with him. The very next day, in defiance, to what this man who has been through some of this revival type stuff has gone through, he (Todd) said, "Somebody recently told me, I've had several people tell me that I'm not going to talk about Angels..." and he (Todd) went and began to chant (after a short delay, they play the Angel Chant Rant).

The Kingdom of God!
Did Jesus, Peter, Paul or any other New Testament writer put off the kingdom some 2000 or more years?

Lk. 17:20-21 Amplified Text
20. When asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied to them by saying, “The kingdom of God does not come with signs to be observed or with visible display,
21. Nor will people say, Look! Here [it is]! Or, See, [it is] there! For behold, the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].”

The kingdom of God is not coming
With Outward signs to be observed!
It will not be some spectacular Event
To be viewed by all.
In fact Jesus told His listeners
The kingdom was already there In Their Midst. Where the King is there you'll find the Kingdom.

Drunk In the Spirit Does It Glorify God?
Or Our Flesh?
What some call the new anointing of the 3rd wave?

A revival of the Spirit does not manifest the flesh. God’s word says clearly that if one walks in the Spirit, that he will not fulfill the desires of the flesh (Gal. 5: 1 6). These are contrary to each other. The works of the flesh will never compliment the workings of the Spirit...

Listen In and tell me what you think?

How many churches does Jesus have? The way many think He must have several. My Bible says He only has ONE CHURCH the ONE He is building. He does not have a 1st day church or a 3rd day church, He has the Church over which He alone is the Head. We have taken Old Testament Scriptures that speak of the glory of the latter house being greater than the glory of the former house and miss the point. What those Scriptures talk about is the glory of Christ and His Church, "the Latter House" being greater or far surpassing the glory of the "Old Testament congregation" (the Old Covenant House) under Moses and the Law.See Haggai 2:9.

In this episode we will also look at some other verses we as Pentecostal and Charismatic believers have misunderstood ever since I can remember and I'm almost as old as dirt!

[PLAY]

Far to many Charismatic believers put their emphasis on the "gifts of the Spirit" and forget there even is 'the fruit of the Spirit!" One thing I've noticed in the Scriptures is that Jesus never once rejected anyone for doing acts of kindness, but He did tell some miracle workers in Matt. 7:21-23; "DEPART FROM ME I NEVER KNEW YOU!" Then He called them, "YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS!" WOW! That kind of goes against our Charismatic mindsets where many chase after signs and wonders as though that is all the Gospel is about. but remember Jesus' words in Matt. 25:40; "When you did it unto the least of these My brethren you did it to ME!"

I am not saying signs and wonders are not important but as believers there is also the "doing it to the least!" Listen in and see what you think.

Mystery Babylon is it really that great a mystery?

"For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost." Today in our Pentecostal and charismatic assemblies people flock from all different types of backgrounds, some very legalistic, others from very social, liberal backgrounds. Many come for the excitement in our meetings, because they're bored with where they've been. Few if any have been properly birthed in Zion. some have never been baptized, others having never received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit since they believed. Some thinking they're Christians because they were born into a so-called Christian family, and sprinkled with holy water when they were babies. Many in our assemblies have only said a little Jesus prayer, never having fully repented (a key point), and on and on we could go. These folks, like most of us more mature saints, have wandered around in the wilderness, some for years, never having heard the Good News that in Christ they are already free, thinking that some day when this (miserable) life is over I'll fly away. Most of us didn't know, and they still don't know, that we are to reign as kings and priest in this life, now! Not just someday in the sweet-by-and-by.

[For my concern is] that their hearts may be braced (comforted, cheered, and encouraged) as they are knit together in love, that they may come to have all the abounding wealth and blessings of assured conviction of understanding, and that they may become progressively more intimately acquainted with and may know more definitely and accurately and thoroughly that mystic secret of God, [which is] Christ (the Anointed One).

In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden. (Col.2:2-3 The Amp. Bible)

"And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities" saith the Lord. (Amos 4:6)

Sounds like a great promise from the Lord. God will give us clean teeth, we don't have to go to the dentist to get our teeth cleaned anymore; just believe God to do it for us. Maybe we all need to add that one to our faith positive confessions? OH! But wait first maybe, just maybe we ought to read the verse in its proper context and see what the real meaning of the verse is.

"For NO man can lay a foundation other that the ONE WHICH is (already) laid, which is JESUS CHRIST!"

Note the emphasis on "ALREADY LAID" we can't add to or subtract from the foundation which is already laid. There are some claiming to be apostles and prophets who are claiming their revelations to be equal to or even surpassing the 1st Century apostolic foundational truths already laid for us IN Christ! Beware of that kind of teaching it surely doesn't line up with Scripture.

How many of us really understand what it is to be a NEW Creation IN Christ?

Indeed, many in the Church are giving up the idea of it except on the occasion of the advent of Christ, which, as it chimes in with our own idleness, is likely to be a popular doctrine. I myself believe that King Jesus will reign, and the idols be utterly abolished; but I expect the same power which turned the world upside down once will still continue to do it. Set our affections on the things above, not on the things that are on the earth.
